Santa Visits Waterford

A Christmas celebration for community residents was sponsored jointly by the Winslow Township Kiwanis Club, the Winslow High School Key Club and Municipal Employees on December 4th.  SANTA and Mrs. Claus arrived at the Municipal Building via fire truck parade and flipped the switch for the annual lighting of the tree.  Festivities moved indoors where children (and adults) were treated to hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes.  They were also invited to sit on the Jolly Old Fellow’s lap to share their wish list.  Approximately 400 residents attended the celebration.

Waterford Township Want To
Send All Students To Hammonton

The Waterford Township Board of Education wants to send all of its students to Hammonton and wants Hammonton to consider a regional district between the two municipalities.  If the new regional district is approved, Waterford's K-6th Grade students would join the 7th to 12th grades in Hammonton.  The new district would also create a BOE with voting members from both towns.  Hammonton BOE members indicated they were not interested in forming a regional district.

Waterford Township was previously in a regional district, the Lower Camden County Regional High School District No. 1, and set its 7-12 graders to Edgewood High School, now Winslow High School.  When the district was dissolved, Waterford decided not to send it students to Winslow and signed a ten year agreement with Hammonton.
